LION HEAD FOUNTAIN

The Lions Are Where the Water Comes From

On most ornamental pieces the animal is applied to the surface and the water comes from somewhere else. Here the lions are the spouts. Each head is an opening, and a fountain with lion head outlets set into the rim gives every tier a visible place where the water starts instead of a seam it slides over.

The casting has a pale weathered stone tone, greenish and softened rather than new concrete gray, and the lion heads are picked out in a warm rust brown against it. That contrast is what you notice from across a lawn. Under the bowls there is relief carving and the column is beaded from top to bottom, so the piece holds up at close range as well.

Fifty two inches is the height that decides where it goes. A concrete tiered fountain this tall is not furniture for a corner. It reads from the end of a driveway, through a courtyard entrance or across a front lawn, and it wants to be looked at from a distance as much as from a seat beside it.

What You Get With This Lion Head Fountain

  1. 01

    The ornament is the plumbing.

Water leaves the lion mouths rather than spilling over a rim, which gives each of the three tiers a distinct starting point and a clear stream you can actually see moving.

  2. 02

Pale weathered stone, not fresh gray.

The finish arrives already softened, with rust brown lion heads set against it. Against brick, natural stone or formal green planting it looks like it has been standing there.

  3. 03

Fifty two inches carries across open ground.

A tall outdoor fountain holds a wide sightline where a short one disappears into planting. Driveway turns, courtyard centers and the end of an entry walk are what this is for.

  4. 04

The pump is included and adjustable.

Turn it down when seating is close, turn it up when the piece sits across a lawn. One standard outdoor outlet runs it and there is no plumbing to connect.

Where to put it

Give it distance. This lion head water fountain is built to be seen across open ground, so it earns its height as a driveway fountain at a turn in the approach, as a courtyard fountain standing in the center rather than against a wall, or at the end of an entry walk. Set it on level solid ground that can carry the weight, keep it outside the main walking paths, and route the cord along a wall or a planting bed rather than across one.

Keeping This Lion Head Fountain in Good Order

Lion Head Fountain upkeep, in three lines

  • Every 2 to 3 weeks Empty, rinse, wipe the pump screen, refill.
  • Before the first frost Drain it completely and bring the pump indoors.
Looking after the finish

Rinse the bowls and wipe the lion heads with a soft cloth. Cast concrete gains patina outdoors and that is the finish doing what it is meant to do,...

  • 3 years Warranty against manufacturing defects
  • 60 days Returns, no restocking fee

Questions About This Lion Head Fountain

Does the water actually come out of the lion heads
Yes. The heads are spouts, not applied decoration. Water leaves each mouth and falls into the bowl below, which is why every tier has a visible stream rather than a sheet running over an edge.
How loud is it and can I turn it down
The pump is adjustable. Start low and raise it until the water falls cleanly into the bowls below. Use a gentler setting when seating is close and more flow when the piece sits across a lawn from where you sit.
What does setup involve
Place it on level solid ground that can carry the weight. The concrete pieces are heavy, so at least two adults should handle positioning and assembly. Fill the bowls, connect the included pump, check every tier is level, then bring the flow up gradually.
What happens in winter
Drain every bowl and the base before the first hard frost, unplug the pump and store it dry indoors. Water left to freeze in a bowl is very nearly the only way a concrete fountain gets damaged. At this weight the piece stays where it is under a breathable cover.

Ships free from California or New Jersey, and it is covered for three years.

Stunning and secure

We had a huge storm last night and this heavy fountain didn't even wobble. Very secure base.

Instruction sheet was blurry

3 stars. The product is gorgeous, but the assembly sheet looked like a bad photocopy. We had to figure out the tiers on our own.

Beautiful sound of royalty

The way the water pours from the lions is mesmerizing. It sounds like a natural waterfall. We get compliments from everyone who visits.

Pump cord is too short

4 stars. I love the fountain, but why is the cord only 6 feet? For an outdoor estate fountain, I had to buy an extension cord immediately.

Splashes in high wind

4 stars because we live in a windy area and the top tier splashes onto our flagstone when it's gusty. Beautiful, but better for a sheltered corner.

Harper Q.
Majestic courtyard anchor

It stands as a silent guardian in our back courtyard. Truly majestic presence.

Looks better than stone

The coloring is so natural. My contractor thought it was real carved limestone until he tried to lift it!

Great for a formal garden

It matches our classical landscaping theme perfectly. The lions are the star of the show.

No more green algae

The sealed material makes it so easy to wipe down. I spend very little time cleaning it.

Looks incredibly expensive

Gives our patio a very high-end, resort-like feel. Our guests are always impressed.

Delivery was slow

3 stars for the logistics. It took 3 weeks to arrive. The product itself is easily a 5, but the wait was painful.

Beautiful under spotlight

Pointed a landscape light at the lion heads and it looks incredible at night with the shadows.

Lions spit water!

My kids love the detail that water actually flows out of the lions' mouths. Too cool!

Timeless European Artistry

It really does look like it belongs in a courtyard in France. The animal carvings are very tastefully done.

Needs two people for setup

4 stars because you cannot put this together alone. The pieces are heavy and need to be aligned perfectly. Get a friend!

A

Instant curb appeal

We put it in the center of our driveway turnaround. Neighbors literally stop their cars to look at it.

True heavy duty composite

You can feel how thick the walls of the basins are. This is built to last a very long time.

Better than real stone

Real stone this size would be 400 lbs and cost a fortune. This looks just as good but is actually manageable to set up.

Raccoons love it too... unfortunately

4 stars. The raccoons think it's their personal bathtub. They haven't tipped it over because it's so heavy, but they sure make a mess!

Transforms the garden

Placed this at the corner of our drive. The neighbors are so jealous of the majestic look!

European luxury at home

This looks like something you'd see at a fancy hotel or an old manor in England.

Tall enough to see over bushes

I have 3-foot high hedges and this peeks over them perfectly. Most other fountains would be hidden.

Still rich gray after 2 years

It's been out in the sun since 2022 and hasn't faded one bit. Great UV protection.

A welcoming sanctuary

Turns our backyard into a royal sanctuary. 10/10 would buy again for our next home.

Silent pump, loud water

The pump is actually super quiet, but the water splashing into the bottom basin is loud. I love it, but don't put it near a bedroom window.

Highly recommended for estate

If you have a larger yard, buy this. It brings the whole landscape together beautifully.

Water pump adjustment needed

4 stars. Out of the box, the water was shooting out too far. Took me a minute to find the dial on the pump to turn it down.

Survived Minnesota blizzard

Left it out through a terrible 2024 winter (covered of course). No cracking or flaking. This material is way better than standard cement.

Architectural anchor

This fountain anchors my entire landscaping. It's tall enough to be seen from the street but doesn't overwhelm the porch.
